2024 is set to be a fruitful year for Taiwan Tech's alumni network, featuring a physical conference held by the Vietnam Alumni Association in March, followed by the founding meetings of the North China Alumni Association in April and the Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli Alumni Association in June. The Northern California Alumni Association, led by President Jun-Ru Chen and former President Yi-Fan Zou, along with many alumni, has warmly welcomed and assisted students and faculty visiting Silicon Valley for internships over the years, and the alumni association has become increasingly active. To express gratitude for the Northern California Alumni Association's long-term support and assistance to Taiwan Tech, and to strengthen relationship with North American alumni, President Jia-Yush Yen, along with Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou and Deputy Director Yu-Wen Wu, attended the Northern California Alumni Association annual meeting on September 21, 2024. During this visit, they also arranged visits to local international tech companies, including ARM, SuperMicro, and Google headquarters, to discuss future collaborations.
Taiwan Tech Alumni show strong support for the annual meeting of the Northern California Alumni Association.
The Northern California Alumni Association Annual Meeting also arranged for the participation of the incubation team who are interns in Silicon Valley and students from Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University who come to Taiwan Tech for exchange.
The Northern California Alumni Association's annual meeting differs from those in other regions by being held outdoors rather than indoors. In particular, in response to local holidays being family days, an outdoor picnic is held in a beautiful park to encourage alumni to bring their families to participate, which has gained a lot of enthusiasm from alumni. With their support, the venue was not only filled with the joyful laughter of children but also the traditional Taiwanese snacks and delicacies made by senior sisters, which healed the alumni who were in a foreign land. Furthermore, the event included a team of interns from Silicon Valley, consisting of students from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and exchange students from Taiwan Tech participating in an incubation program. The younger students took this opportunity to express their gratitude to the seniors of the Northern California Alumni Association for their support. The assistance and care during the internship made the atmosphere on site feel warm.
Northern California Alumni Association wishes Taiwan Tech a happy 50th Anniversary!
During the annual meeting, President Yen was particularly concerned about the alumni living in the Silicon Valley area and encouraged them to stay in touch with Taiwan Tech, the Alumni Association, and the Northern California Alumni Association for resource sharing. Vice President Yu-Wen Wu invited everyone to return to Taiwan Tech in March for the 50th anniversary celebration. The meeting concluded on a joyful note under California's warm sun, filled with alumni's heartfelt wishes for Taiwan Tech's 50th birthday, with everyone looking forward to reuniting at next year's anniversary celebration.
