Founded just three years ago, the Taiwan Tech racing team competed in the 4th Taiwan Cup Formula Student Taiwan (FST) at the Taichung Lihpao Racing Park from August 2-4. They earned second place and the Best Popularity award. The team was the first to pass all static inspections on the first day of the competition, including electrical, mechanical, driver egress, rain, and weight tests. They also completed dynamic events such as straight-line acceleration, figure-eight maneuver, and time trials, finishing the endurance race on the sixth lap.

The deputy team leader of the Taiwan Tech Racing Team, Tsung-Yu Lai, stated that technology and experience learned from interactions with domestic and international racing teams, aim to optimize car manufacturing processes and component design, focusing on reducing weight and enhancing dynamic performance.
He also mentioned that since the end of last year's Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Australia event, the team faced a challenge with battery box transportation due to safety regulations. This prevented them from returning the battery components to Taiwan. Within five months, the electrical and power teams had to redesign and reassemble the battery box, incorporating technical updates to prepare for future competitions, showcasing the team's professionalism and positive achievements.

Dean Ming-Jyh Chern of the College of Engineering at Taiwan Tech highlighted that the competition not only allows more people to know the student racing teams but also serves as a driving force for student progress. Participating in the competition helps identify areas for improvement. Throughout the process, students enhance their ability to use industrial equipment and gain hands-on experience that cannot be provided by textbooks and classroom learning.
In just five months, the team members redesigned and reassembled the battery box, passing all inspections and demonstrating their efficiency and teamwork.
The Taiwan Cup Formula Student Competition is the largest student formula racing event in Taiwan, bringing together hundreds of college students passionate about racing and car building. According to the competition rules, teams must pass all static inspections before moving on to dynamic tests, ensuring the safety and performance of their vehicles from detailed component checks to full dynamic events. In this event, the Taiwan Tech Racing Team was the first to advance to dynamic inspections, showcasing their efficiency and teamwork once again.

After the competition, the team will use the experience gained from last year's Australian event and this year's Taiwan race to develop and design the next-generation race car. The team expresses gratitude to the Taiwan Tech Smart Electric Vehicle Center and all the sponsors supporting the team. From the design and development of the car body to the assembly of the car, about half the support comes from various industrial brands, including the Yen Ching-Ling Industrial Development Foundation, Yulon Motors, Amita Technologies Inc., Taiwan Auto Design Co., Wurth Electronics, Taichung Harbor Hotel, and Boschman Enterprise Co., Ltd, etc. With their support, the team was able to compete and achieve impressive results.
