Today (27th), Taiwan Tech partnered with ASE Academy to offer the ISO 14068-1 international carbon neutrality certification course. The program attracted over a hundred participants from various industries, providing knowledge in carbon neutrality and green sustainability to companies and their supply chain partners across Taiwan. Upon certification, participants can enter the market and help businesses effectively implement net-zero carbon emissions.
Taiwan Tech and ASE Academy are co-hosting a three-day international carbon neutrality certification course at the Fullon Hotel Tamsui.
Talent development is a crucial factor for Taiwan's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. To support this, the course has invited professionals from various fields, including Po-Hong Chen, General Manager of the Fullon Hotel Tamsui, the first green hotel in Taiwan to receive the “Service Carbon Footprint” certification; Prof. Yu-Lin Kuo, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Taiwan Tech; Prof. Gong Fu-Chen from Kainan University’s Department of Health and Nutrition; and Pei-Yu Bai, CEO of Foxconn Smart Agriculture. Their participation jointly supports carbon-neutral talent training activities and corporate social responsibility.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Taiwan Tech has successfully trained many professionals in net-zero practices and is eager to share its successful model of coursework, certification, internships, and project experience with other educators to help them obtain certifications and then actually operate in the industry. Prof. Yu-Lin Kuo stated, “Taiwan Tech has always been dedicated to promoting technological innovation and sustainable development. This course reflects our diverse value in talent development. We hope to equip more businesses and supply chain partners with the skills needed to tackle the 2050 net-zero challenge through this training.”
Prof. Yu-Lin Kuo, a Distinguished Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Taiwan Tech delivered a speech.
The course features special guest instructors, including Yi-Yuan Su, a seed teacher for the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration & German Ministry of Environment (BMU) Adelphi carbon emissions trading course; Feng-Yao Ke, a carbon neutrality lead auditor; and Fu-Chen Gong, a part-time professor at Taiwan Tech’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. They will provide in-depth analysis of carbon neutrality fundamentals, carbon emissions calculation, carbon neutrality management plans, and carbon neutrality audits. Participants will also engage in workshops, where they will practice carbon neutrality operations, case studies, and practical analysis, merging theory with hands-on experience to enhance their practical skills and create a tangible sustainable impact on society.
Additionally, ASE Academy awarded a scholarship to Dr. Yun-Yuan Chen from Taiwan Tech’s Department of Mechanical Engineering to support the growth and development of future net-zero talent.
Cheng-Bang Lin, Chairman of Ours International Management Consulting Co., Ltd., awarded the scholarship to Dr. Yun-Yuan Chen, a Ph.D. student from Taiwan Tech’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, to support the growth and development of net-zero talent.
The international carbon neutrality certification course introduces the successful talent development model from Taiwan Tech's net-zero programs and shares the certification design model with all participating seed teachers. This not only strengthens Taiwan Tech’s role in sustainable development and carbon neutrality training but also provides practical technical support to businesses and supply chain partners. In the future, Taiwan Tech will continue to advance related courses, training more professionals with expertise and practical skills in sustainable development, aiding industries in meeting net-zero challenges, and driving progress toward the 2050 net-zero goal.
The carbon neutrality international certification course attracted over a hundred participants to sign up.
