Taiwan Tech and Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy Research collaborate to launch the “Corporate Sustainability Manager Certification Training Program”, responding to global sustainable development trends, cultivating professionals with expertise in sustainable finance to enhance Taiwan’s competitiveness in international financial markets. The 10-week course spans 80 hours, providing comprehensive training on standards and regulations, and practical CSR case studies, to supply the industry with skilled sustainability managers.

On June 29, 2024, the “Corporate Sustainability Manager Certification Training Program” hosted its certification ceremony and sharing session. The event featured senior engineering project manager Chao-Ming Lin from Billion Watts Technologies discussing “Strategies for Corporations Moving Towards Zero Carbon Emissions” to respond to disasters, and Senior Vice President Pei-Fen Wu from Cathay Financial Holding Co. Ltd. sharing insights on “The Journey of Corporate Sustainability Transformation.”

President Jia-Yush Yen of Taiwan Tech attended the certification ceremony and expressed Taiwan Tech’s commitment to providing diverse and high-quality educational resources. He emphasized Taiwan Tech’s active promotion of education and research in sustainable development. In this collaboration, Taiwan Tech is responsible for providing administrative support such as venue and teaching assistants, fully demonstrating the university's dedication and support for sustainable development education.

Secretary-General of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy Research and Director of Taiwan Tech’s Department of Industrial Management, Tsai-Chi Kuo, pointed out that the “Corporate Sustainability Manager Certification Training Program” combines theoretical coursework with practical experience sharing. This approach helps participants understand and master core sustainability concepts and practices, enabling them to better implement sustainability principles in their careers.
Secretary-General Yong-Shun Shen of Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy Research emphasized that the foundation has consistently supported and promoted various sustainable development initiatives. The collaboration with Taiwan Tech aims to impart more sustainable knowledge to more participants, thereby encouraging more companies and individuals to participate in sustainable development.
Dean Nai-Wei Luo of Taiwan Tech’s College of Management expressed that the School of Management is very honored to participate in this training program and looks forward to further advancing the development of ESG in Taiwan through this collaboration. At the same time, he encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to enhance their professional capabilities and contribute to Taiwan's sustainable development.
The “Corporate Sustainability Manager Certification Training Program” attracted 70 participants from various industries, including many mid to senior-level executives. Through the training, participants not only deepen their understanding of sustainability but also enhance their ability to apply ESG principles in the workplace.
In addition to lectures by industry and academic professionals, the program includes corporate sustainability managers’ sharing of real-world cases, discussions on sustainability standards, and exploration of the latest academic trends. Participants engage in brainstorming sessions and practical exercises, exchanging ideas and experiences from different enterprises and organizations. The participants persevered and worked hard to complete the ten-week training course and pass the rigorous examination in order to enrich their knowledge of sustainability and bring their learning content back to industry and academia.
