On April 27th of this year (113), the NTUST (Taiwan Tech) North China District Alumni Association held its inaugural ceremony in Beijing, adding a new chapter to the Taiwan Tech Mainland China Alumni Association.
The Taiwan Tech North China District Alumni Association held its inaugural meeting, where representatives from the alma mater faculty, the alumni association, the East China Alumni Association, the South China Alumni Association, and the North China Alumni gathered together to celebrate.
The number of mainland Taiwanese alumni of Taiwan Tech has reached nearly 450, with many Taiwanese alumni developing careers there. To foster interaction, communication, and collaboration among alumni in North China, the former chairman of the Alumni Association, Hong-Yi Chen initiated the establishment of the North China District Alumni Association. Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou, Alumni Association Chairman Jian-Wei Chen, and others personally attended meetings in mainland China to prepare for this initiative. With the collaborative efforts of alumni leaders such as Xi-Yuan Wu and Jun-Chang Chen from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, The Taiwan Tech North China District Alumni Association was successfully formed after nearly a year.
President Jia-Yush Yen specially recorded a video to thank the enthusiastic and hardworking efforts of the North China District Alumni Association's organizers during the preparation process. The establishment of the North China District Alumni Association enriches the presence of Taiwan Tech alumni associations in mainland China. From North China, East China, and South China to Southeast Asia, Taiwan Tech alumni associations serve alumni by supporting each other and sharing resources. President Yen also hopes that under the leadership of President Xi-Yuan Wu, the North China District Alumni Association will not only consolidate alumni cohesion through various activities but also encourage exchanges with alumni associations in other regions to share experiences in alumni association management.
During the meeting, Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou and Alumni Association Chairman Jian-Wei Chen officially presented the flag to the North China District Alumni Association. Hong-Yi Chen, the honorary president of the Alumni Association, East China Alumni Association, South China Alumni Association, and North China Alumni Association, kindly sponsored the operational funds, facilitating the smooth operation of the association in its initial stages. Although the North China District Alumni Association is the latest alumni association established by Taiwan Tech in mainland China, its leadership combines alumni who have developed careers in mainland China with local alumni. The inauguration ceremony attracted a large number of mainland and exchange student alumni, which is highly commendable.

Taiwan Tech continues to cultivate alumni relations, actively establishing platforms for connection and communication among alumni associations in various regions. Through a closely-knit alumni network, the university aims to unite strengths and leverage greater contributions and influence. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Taiwan Tech, and a series of celebratory events including forums and anniversary gatherings will be held. President Jia-Yush Yen invites alumni associations and alumni from all regions to return to their alma mater, to share in the remarkable research and achievements made over the past 50 years, and to collectively witness the glorious moments of Taiwan Tech, which has laid the foundation for industries over half a century.
