Three Indonesian students, Xuan-Li Zhang, Mu-Yuan Li, and Mei-Qian Li, who are studying in the MBA program at Taiwan Tech, along with Taiwan Tech Chemical Engineering alumni Wen-Liang Liu, have formed the Indonesian entrepreneurial team PT Daun Pintar Raya. They are the outstanding team of Taiwan Tech's second "Global Talent Entrepreneurship Program Orientation". Their design focuses on automating systems to improve the yield and quality of hydroponic crops, while also optimizing system measurement accuracy, efficiency, and user convenience. By integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and app monitoring, they aim to assist Indonesian farmers in effortlessly enhancing the quality of their yields.

The PT Daun Pintar Raya app (https://daun-pintar.web.app/) is now operational and cooperates with the Indonesian government. In Jakarta, they not only provide local farmers with machinery, services, and training but also have signed contracts with local governments. They are also in ongoing discussions with government officials from the new capital, Nusantara. Additionally, they have registered with the Policy Institute for Procurement of Goods/Services (LKPP) webpage. If the Indonesian government requires hydroponic cultivation technology and products, they will prioritize contacting registered manufacturers and purchasing them.
Xuan-Li Zhang, an Indonesian Chinese student in the first year of the MBA program, expressed that Indonesia experiences a six-month rainy season, during which farmers are highly vulnerable to natural disasters. He hoped to assist farmers using technology and began the entrepreneurial journey in 2022. The team faced numerous challenges, including system development and pricing. As hydroponic greenhouse concepts are not widely known in Indonesia, the team had to ensure quality control and promote it. Due to the generally limited economic conditions of Indonesian farmers, they introduced a subscription model to provide customized services within an affordable payment package for farmers.

Xuan-Li Zhang, a student, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Taiwan Tech Incubation Center, which offered courses and opportunities to exchange ideas with entrepreneurial teams from other countries. The mentorship system provided by the center has been invaluable in resolving practical issues for the team. They hope to establish collaborative relationships with the Indonesian government in the future and work with relevant stakeholders to offer farmers more affordable prices. Furthermore, they have long-term plans to leverage the Nusantara relocation policy to extend their technology to farmers throughout Indonesia.

Recognizing the limited entrepreneurial resources available to foreign students in Taiwan, Taiwan Tech introduced the "Global Talent Entrepreneurship Program Orientation" in 2022. Teams participating in the program must consist of at least half foreign students and include at least one current student or recent graduate. The program offers nearly six months of free entrepreneurial training and one-on-one mentorship in English. After presenting their achievements, teams receive ongoing support to commercialize and scale their ventures, utilizing resources from within the university and its alumni network. The second edition “Global Talent Entrepreneurship Program Orientation”, held in 2023, attracted teams from 8 countries, with a total of 9 teams applying. Ultimately, one outstanding team, one excellent team, and two teams receiving the “Triple Excellence Award” were selected.
