"After parting like floating clouds, ten years have passed like flowing water." Since the separation from National Taiwan Institute of Technology in the years 1992 and 1993, it has now been over 30 and 31 years. Through the efforts of the Reunion Preparation Committee composed of alumni associations and class representatives, Taiwan Tech organized the 112th year's “Graduation 30(+1) Reunion” on November 4. The event kicked off in front of the Jingcheng sculpture on the Taiwan Tech campus. Early that day, alumni returning from various places continuously gathered, earnestly searching for their names on the list, reminiscent of the past days of checking lists. However, the mood was no longer one of anxiety but rather one filled with memories.

Youth always passes too swiftly. Recollecting the days at the National Taiwan Institute of Technology, time slipped by amidst the brightly lit dorm rooms, burning the midnight oil in study sessions. Today, as we reunite, despite the lengthy separation, the familiarity remains. In every departmental venue, teachers and students warmly embrace, unable to contain their joy. Senior Qing-Fu Zhang from the Department of Business Management, serving as the finance head of the organizing committee, passionately connected with classmates, receiving robust support. He said, "The 30th reunion allows everyone to relive their youthful years. Whether it's revisiting the old list or the departmental exchanges, everywhere is filled with surprises and laughter. Thank you, Taiwan Tech!"
Senior De-Chang Wu from the Fiber Department (now the Department of Materials Science and Engineering) expressed immense gratitude for this event: "Thanks to the alma mater for organizing this event, the department head's dedicated reception, and Senior Tian-Lai Zhu's generous contributions to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. I'm especially grateful to classmates who traveled from Pingtung, Kaohsiung, Yunlin, and Taichung, and particularly to the classmates who returned from Vietnam. I'm infinitely grateful in my heart. It's because of the nourishment Taiwan Tech provided me in the past that I have the opportunity to stand firm in society today. I cherish it a lot. “Once you are a Taiwan Tech person, you will always be a Taiwan Tech person.”
The overall coordinator of the organizing committee and the class contact person for the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Senior Qin-Ying Fang, shared, "Our 30-year reunion wasn't easy. At the age beyond fifty, approaching sixty, through this opportunity, we let classmates rekindle past friendships. I believe being a Taiwan Tech alumnus is a lifelong mark and honor! As the person in charge of this event, I hope this reunion is just the beginning. I hope classmates will continue their camaraderie and become a strong support for Taiwan Tech in society.”
Aside from the long-lost students, this reunion also invited former mentors and educators. Teacher Fu-Quan Xu from the Department of Electrical Engineering happily strolled on campus that day, saying, "I used to teach Chinese literature. I never expected students would still remember me after 30 years. I'm delighted to participate." Here, gratitude is extended to the attendance of former presidents Shun-Tian Chen and Xi-Shun Chen, department heads, teaching units, and alumni associations for their support and hospitality. Senior Pi-Zong Zhan, the convener of the 40th reunion, shared organizing experiences, allowing alumni and teachers to gather in the crisp autumn air of the Taiwan Tech campus, reminiscing about the wonderful times of "checking lists, enrollment, life, and graduation”.
