The 2024 Annual Meeting of Taiwan Tech's Vietnamese Alumni Association was held grandly in Hanoi. President Jia-Yush Yen and Chairman of the Alumni Association Jian-Wei Chen led the delegation to participate in the annual event. They were split into two groups: President Yen and Dean of International Affairs Ying-Jung Yeh led the academic exchange group to visit Cantho University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology to discuss international cooperation matters. Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou led the alumni economic group to visit alumni enterprises, understand the achievements of Taiwan Tech alumni in cooperation and entrepreneurship in Vietnam, and held the "Vietnamese Alumni Economic Forum" to discuss business opportunities, prospects, and challenges for investment and development in Vietnam.

BENKON, founded by alumni from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Industrial Management in Ho Chi Minh City, focuses on the development of various hardware and software technologies for energy and air conditioning system integration. The founders stated that it was the friendship between classmates at Taiwan Tech that laid the foundation for their entrepreneurial success. Meanwhile, PICONS, founded by alumni from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Vietnamese alumni from the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, and the Department of Architecture in Hanoi, specializes in the factory floor, air conditioning, and clean room equipment in the northern region of Vietnam, providing one-stop development, design, supervision, and construction. The professional services include well-known multinational corporations in the electronics and traditional industries. The success experiences of Vietnamese alumni in cross-departmental cooperation and entrepreneurship based on the professional knowledge acquired at Taiwan Tech serve as the best demonstration of the alumni economy.

PICONS was founded through collaboration between alumni from the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, and the Department of Architecture. It provides comprehensive professional services including development, design, supervision, and construction.

On March 2nd, the “Vietnamese Alumni Economic Forum” was held in Hanoi. Alumni Han-Ming Liao from the Department of Industrial Management invited the Vietnamese Ambassador to Taiwan, Guo-Jun Su, former Secretary-General of the Vietnam-Taiwan Exchange Association, and representatives from Taiwanese and Vietnamese enterprises in the northern region of Vietnam to exchange views with Taiwan Tech’s mentors and alumni on the investment environment, development opportunities, and challenges in Vietnam. Practical issues such as environmental impact assessments and capital injection were also discussed, with suggestions provided. It is hoped that through this forum, opportunities for cooperation will be created to realize the goal of resource sharing, mutual benefit, and common prosperity within the alumni economic circle.
